Inspired by Scotland's Viking heritage, this piece combines the beautiful and thorny thistles of Scotland with the beautiful and terrifying 'dragon' ships of the North.

Sturdy, and yet graceful, when worn on a shoulder the Viking Ships seem to sail --or float-- on an ocean of plaid: Ringed by thistles but unencumbered by weather.

And yes, this pin will hold the whole nine yards of a great kilt, or the weight of a shawl heavy enough to guard against the weather of the north.
